Fang Oliver

Sunny Isles Beach International Ambassador to Asia, Fang Oliver, takes her assignment very seriously. This multi-talented dynamo does not merely perform essential duties of her position; she goes above and beyond by reaching out to connect the many cultures within our City. When presenting ideas and suggestions to both elected officials and corporate sponsors, her natural graciousness serves her well. An experienced organizer, she knows exactly how to bring the best out in each contributing organization.

Fang has been a resident of Sunny Isles Beach since 2004. She has enthusiastically joined in promoting a relationship between the City and the local Taiwanese Chamber of Commerce of Miami. For the past several years, the City has supported the Chamber at the Annual Dragon Boat Race. Last fall, a dragon boat racing team was formed by City employees who won their division due in part to expert coaching from a member of the Taiwanese Chamber. It is obvious that true cooperation exists between the City and the Chamber.

As President of the Taiwanese Chamber of Commerce Miami, Fang has been instrumental in jumpstarting the process of joining Sunny Isles Beach and Hengchun, Taiwan in a Sister Cities International partnership. Both cities are beautiful, beachfront communities which attract millions of tourists to their respective shores each year. Each community would benefit from the educational, commercial and cultural exchange that would be the result of a sister city agreement.

Not satisfied to just reach out locally, Fang also is a Director of the World Taiwanese Chambers of Commerce. In this capacity, she recently acted as an International Leadership Foundation (ILF) Advisor to a delegation of young people from China and Taiwan. On their visit to Washington D.C., these young participants were able to observe Congress in session and meet with successful Chinese Americans in government and industry. The ILF promotes civic awareness, public service and economic effectiveness to developing young leaders in the United States and Pacific Rim countries.
