Sibfl.net adds Vimeo and more

One of the many goals of the staff at the Sunny Isles Beach Government Center is to strive for ways to create optimal communication between the city and its residents.

For example, residents can register at www.sibfl.net to receive email messages. They can not only find out about the latest entertainment/events occurring in the city but also be made aware of important notices such as traffic issues (lane closures, etc.), blood bank donations, driver license renewals or park closings. Additionally, residents can now access information by using any of the latest social media brands — Twitter, Facebook and Instagram. Lastly, there are several printed formats mailed or distributed where residents can get the latest city news.

So I am pleased to announce that the city has added another creative way to reach out to our residents. Staff members of the Cultural and Community Services Department have contracted with Vimeo.

Vimeo is a video-sharing program that allows users to upload video content, much like youtube. The benefit of using Vimeo is that the download time is virtually immediate, so you’re able to view a video instantaneously.

Currently there are 12 videos uploaded. I would like to encourage all of you to try it. There you will find various topics of interest… a visually gorgeous tour of the Newport Pier, a very informative workshop on hurricane safety and a popular seminar hosted by the City Advisory Committee entitled “What You Should Know About Condo Living.”

To access Vimeo/TV go to sibfl.net, from there click on SIB Media, then SIBTV/Vimeo on the dropdown box. There you will be directed to the blue Vimeo logo.

Click on that and enjoy the videos! Many thanks go to Susan Simpson, Mike Tribby, Leah Einwalter and Pierre Joseph for making this enhancement possible.

If you review the home page more closely, you may also notice that this new SIB Media link consolidates many information services within this one dropdown menu. Additionally, the most popular information links are more visible and directly accessible for users browsing our home page. Check out the other new dropdown menus for many of the home page links from Building & Development to City Services to Public Safety. In each case, the “more” link will take you to all the information for that section of the website.

These improvements are designed to make our website easier to use and filled with the information our users are looking to find. If you have any questions regarding the website, contact Cultural and Community Services at 305-792- 1706.a
