On Saturday, January 29, Sunny Isles Beach resident Maria Teresa Espinoza and Hugo Sanchez, from Houston, Texas, had an unforgettable wedding reception at Pelican Community Park.
What made this day exceptionally special for the family was that the bride Maria Teresa was also honored to be Godmother to her new baby niece Isabella, whose baptism was being celebrated the same day. The bride’s sister Gabriela, the mother of the baby Isabella, was maid of honor for the bride. So, two memorable family occasions were celebrated on the same day: wedding and baptism.
Sixty guests, mainly close family and friends, gathered together at the City’s Community Center on this sunny afternoon to celebrate their big event. After the church ceremonies, both wedding and christening, which took place at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church, the bridal party and guests proceeded to Pelican Community Park for the celebration.
Everybody enjoyed beautiful room settings where elegantly decorated tables were set, and shaded playground where children played after the dinner. Being originally from Peru, they danced to the live two-man band music featuring popular Spanish music. The home made food was prepared in the best traditions of Peruvian cuisine – delicious hors d’oeuvres, entrees and desserts. And of course, both the layered wedding cake and the baptismal cake were beautiful.
The newlyweds were very happy and relieved that after all the wedding preparation madness – everybody knows how insane and stressful that could be – everything came out really well and they will have unforgettable memories of this celebration. They were extremely pleased with their selection of the Community Center as the affordable location for this family event.
