Keeping with its mission to create global citizens, Miami Dade College (MDC) once again will offer students the Economic Awakenings China Study Abroad program during the Spring 2013 semester, from May 5 to June 5, in Shanghai.
As in prior years, students enrolled in the Economic Awakenings program will reside at the Songjiang Campus of Shanghai-Lixin University of Commerce. Their courses of study will be macroeconomics (ECO2013) and microeconomics (ECO2023) taught in English. In addition, MDC students will have the opportunity to experience the sites, food and culture of the greater Shanghai area, including travel on the bullet train to Beijing for an excursion trip to see the Forbidden City and Great Wall.
The cost of the 2013 program is $4,750, which includes round-trip airfare from Miami, accommodations in a double room, excursion trip to Beijing, industry visits, and some meals. MDC tuition, Chinese visa fee and incidentals are additional. A $1,000 non-refundable deposit is required. Students are encouraged to apply soon as space is limited. They must also have a GPA of 2.75 or higher to participate.
