Marian Towers honors Miami-Dade Fire Station 10

By Alayne Yeash….
On Tuesday, October 18, 2011 at 2:00 pm the residents of Marian Towers presented an Outstanding Service Award to Miami-Dade County Fire Rescue Station 10. The plaque was the resident’s way of showing appreciation for all the help the Firefighters and Paramedics of Station 10 have given to them over the years. Marian Towers is a senior housing facility owned by Catholic Health Services.

Station 10 was temporarily located next to Marian Towers on North Bay Road while their station on 172 Street was under reconstruction. During this relocation the residents enjoyed personalized service from ‘right next door’ instead of around the corner and came to think of the fire station employees as members of their extended family.

Presenting the award to the Station Captain were Marian Towers Property Manager Ada Hernandez, Catholic Housing Management Regional Manager Aleja Pagan, Marian Towers Assistant Manager Helen White, residents of the facility and representing the city were Vice Mayor Lewis J. Thaler, Comm. Jeanette Gatto and former Comm. Gerry Goodman. A reception followed on the terrace of Marian Towers.

Captain Jorge Carvajal from A shift accepted the award on behalf of his entire organization. He was joined by fellow members of Miami-Dade County Fire Rescue, Jose Cardenas, Lillian Sanpere and Laura Villiers.
