Enthusiasm for the game of soccer is growing more rapidly than ever. With contributing factors such as the internationally celebrated World Cup, increasing influx of passionate immigrants and safety concerns that have become all too common and prevalent in American football, soccer is getting serious consideration and play from both young and old.
To quench the needs of soccer enthusiasts of all ages, the City of Sunny Isles Beach, Cultural and Community Services Department offers a variety of year-round soccer programs. Soccer programs such as Pee Wee Soccer designed to introduce youth to the fun and excitement of soccer; Instructional soccer created to teach basic fundamentals and skills; Soccer Clinics designed to sharpen skills; Recreational soccer, in which players are molded into a team and play games locally; and lastly; Competitive soccer, for those players that desire the highly competitive and travel soccer experience.
One of the City’s flagship programs is its very own youth and adult soccer league, the Sunny Isles Beach South East Soccer League or SIB “SEAS”. The SIB SEAS soccer league offers six weeks of competitive games and tournaments for adults and youth.
SEAS soccer league is highly respected and well attended by numerous soccer clubs from throughout South Florida; clubs that have won noteworthy championships throughout the state. During the most recent season, the City of Sunny Isles Beach’s very own Under 6 team (youth ages 5-6) won the SIB SEAS Fall 2013 championship by winning all games played, a major accomplishment!
