On Monday, April 18th at 10 a.m. a dedication ceremony was held in honor of former Commissioner Gerry Goodman.

He was honored for all his service to the City of Sunny Isles Beach by family, friends, and professional colleagues.

Present at the dedication were Zoraida Druckman, representing Senator Gwen Margolis, Miami- Dade County Commissioner Sally Heyman, former Commissioners Irving Turetsky and Roslyn Brezin and the entire current Commission of the City of Sunny Isles Beach, Mayor Norman S. Edelcup, Vice Mayor Lewis J. Thaler, Commissioner Isaac Aelion, Commissioner Jeanette Gatto, Commissioner George “Bud” Scholl. Mayor Edelcup spoke about Gerald “Gerry” Goodman and his contributions towards forming the City as it is today, touching on his concerns for residents safety with regards to traffic and quality of life.

Commissioner Goodman thanked all of his family and professional associates over the years and said he would still be around to help in his new capacity as retired Commissioner.
