The 2012 Police Awards for the Sunny Isles Beach Police Department were distributed at the end of January of this year. These very distinct and honorable selections pinpoint officers and civilians who meet the specific criteria for that specific award. To be honored amongst your colleagues and peers is a very special feeling for the recipient. Some of the awards have been in existence since the creation of the department in 1998. Others are as new or recent as this year like the newly created City Manager’s Award.
It is my privilege as Police Chief each year to host these awards along with the Commission and City Officials.
