As part of ongoing efforts to enhance South Miami Hospital’s facilities, a new wall at the west side of the campus is under construction. The new 12-foot Manor Lane wall is replacing the previous five-foot wall to enhance privacy for neighboring homeowners.

New landscaping on Manor Lane along SW 73 Street – city property commonly referred to as Linear Park – also is included in the hospital’s campus beautification project. Lush new trees, shrubs and plants will be planted to refresh the aesthetics of the park.

“In addition to providing patients and their families access to the latest technology and treatments with expert, compassionate care, we also are committed to serving as a valuable member of our community,” said Lincoln Mendez, chief executive officer. “This outdoor improvement project is one example that demonstrates our commitment.”

Upgrading the Manor Lane wall is part of the hospital’s long-range master plan. The project was discussed with neighbors at a series of meetings to obtain their valuable feedback.

The Manor Lane wall and Linear Park landscaping are scheduled to be completed in late May.
