South Miami Hospital honored and recognized its Unit Nurses of the Year at an award ceremony during Nurses Week in May. The exceptional nurses were chosen by their colleagues for demonstrating high ethical standards, providing excellent care to patients and families and enhancing the overall quality of patient care at the hospital.   Under the direction of Kathy Sparger, R.N., vice president and chief nursing officer (pictured front row, center), their outstanding efforts and professionalism helped South Miami Hospital earn its third designation as a Magnet hospital from the American Nurses Credentialing Center, the nation’s largest and foremost nursing accrediting and credentialing organization.
