Oh no, Feliu may try it one more time!Couldn’t believe my ears the other day when I heard that former mayor Horace Feliu may go for it once again. What? Yup, story is that is he may run for the mayor’s seat in 2016. Golly, doesn’t my friend Horace have anything else to do besides run for office. Horace, ran for the commission last February and lost and few years before that he also lost. But this time, according to my unreliable source, Horace thinks he can win against commissioner “Bobby, the Bobble Head” Welsh and for sure he can win over “Josh the marathon guy” Leibman. And you count on it that there will be a few more that might want the title of “King or Queen of the Day” aka as the mayor of the City of Pleasant Living.

Over the weekend, went out of my zip code to Scully’s Tavern on Sunset Drive and 98th Ave. Boy or boy, this place was rockin, with live music and lots of great food. I mean a full menu that for sure will take on one’s appetite. Here are just some of the things we had for dinner: Fried Calamari, Escargot, some Oysters Florentine, along with a SmokedFish, Caesar salad, a Texas Chili Burger, a Greek salad, some chicken wings (mild) and a few diet cokes. Even though can’t tell you who ate what, most of us managed not to overeat, that was until dessert arrived. Long story a bit longer; it’s well worth the 10 minute drive from the middle of South Miami. Check out their website at www.scullystavern.com and you’ll get a real good feeling.

Couldn’t help but see Chip Black, the real estate guy, at Two Chefs the other day. He was there with two very well dressed guys who were eagerly showing him some pictures on their iPads. Darn, wish I could have gotten a better look at the screen, as I slowly walked by them on my way to the restroom. Anyway, as I had a delicious salad, I found time to read my favorite newspaper and played with my iPhone, but all the while, kept an eye on a real estate deal in the works.

Congratulations to Adam Brand and Yvonne Debesa, who just recently announced that they are engaged. The lucky couple spend some time in Peru, enjoying some quiet time and while they were there, just happened to take a couple of pictures (see front page) holding a copy of their hometown newspaper, the South Miami News. Lots of Happy Faces for Adam and Yvonne.
