Miami-Dade Public Library System seeks volunteers for Project LEAD

The Miami-Dade Public Library System is seeking volunteer tutors for Project LEAD (Literacy for Every Adult in Dade) — a free, confidential, one-on-one tutoring program to assist adults with basic reading and writing skills. Tutors should be compassionate, flexible, possess good reading skills and be willing to commit to the program for a six-month time period. No prior experience is needed.

A volunteer tutor workshop will take place on Saturday, Nov. 2, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., at the Main Library, 101 W. Flagler St. in downtown Miami. A background check is required. Bring a photo ID and Social Security card, or know your social security number. Parking is available at the Cultural Center Garage, 50 NW Second Ave., for a $5 fee.

For more information, call 305-375-5323 or send email to projectlead@mdpls.org
