The South Miami Baseball League is looking for players, coaches, sponsors and volunteers to take out to the ball game. Founded over 46 years ago, the not for profit baseball organization offers league play and all-star games to boys and girls from ages six to 14. Seven different play divisions are available from Mites T-Ball to Majors.

All children will have an opportunity to play in every game.

According to League President for six years now Omar Diaz, “Palmer Park at South Miami Middle School is one of the finest fields in Dade County. We have batting cages, lit fields and families are actively involved in their child’s baseball experience in a fun and friendly competitive environment.”

Diaz says this is the first year they will be introducing the Mites and T-Ball age bracket to the game. The Majors age group of 13 to 14 year olds has not played in a few years so that is a return new addition to the league as well.

Players will be evaluated for team assignment except for those coming in with a school or last year’s teams and mites and pony division.

Many famous major league players have come out of the South Miami Youth Baseball League such as Hall of Famer for the Florida Marlins Andre Dawson and Boston Red Sox third baseman Mike Lowell.

Enrollment fee is $190 per player, second child is $170 (Head Coaches son is $100). Mites Division cost is $150 per player and second child is $130 (Head Coaches son is $90). Call Omar Diaz at 786-514-8256, online registration at www.smybaseball.com.
