The Iota Pi Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. and the students of Devon Aire K-8 Center in Kendall recently collaborated to help needy families in Homestead prepare a memorable Thanksgiving meal.

The chapter and partner school collected a truckload of canned food items, desserts, and holiday essentials. Brother Brian Davis, a teacher at Devon Aire, helped to organize the event. In total, more than $3,000 in food items were donated to this event. As a result the fraternity was able to distribute more than 60 Thanksgiving baskets which were donated to families whose children attend Leisure City K-8 Center.
