Dance Gallery Hosts 100 Students

St. John Bosco Picture Dance Gallery was honored to host 100 children from Leadership Learning Center at St. John Bosco on Sunday, Dec 16th for their 16th annual Xmas Xtravaganza. This event is sponsored by the Dance Gallery Performing Ensemble group & also includes all their students ages 3 to Adults.

Dance Gallery Ensemble tries to give back to the community and looks forward to working with the children from St. John Bosco again in the near future.

The mission of the Leadership Learning Center at St. John Bosco is to interact with children at an early age to provide them with the leadership skills, academic ability and personal character that will enable them to become the future leaders this community needs to raise families out of poverty and build a better future for all Miamians. This is accomplished by the program’s concentration on individualized achievement, self-esteem and community building among peers.

The Leadership Learning Center (LLC) is a program rooted in a long history of service to others, which aims to create positive change in Little Havana by instilling in its participants self-respect and self-esteem through personal and academic achievement, love of learning and respect for others. By involving parents directly in their child’s education, facilitating parent-school communications, and building bridges to available social services, the LLC alleviates pressure on parents and empowers them to become the guide their child needs to succeed. Hope for future, personal achievement, and self-reliance will help these children steer clear of community risk factors.

On Thursday January 17, 2013 three of our senior girls Stephanie Pujol, Ashley Ruiz, & Casey Ruiz performed at Broward Community College at the 2nd Annual South FL Dance Benefit for Stroke Victims. This cause is very special to Dance Gallery as the founder Ms. Tammy Farris was one of our teachers who suffered a stroke 2 years ago. She is now walking again and on her way to her Goal of Dancing & Teaching again.
