Community Newspapers’ Gloria Burns named Rotarian of the Year

Community Newspapers’ Gloria Burns named Rotarian of the YearPictured is Community Newspapers columnist Gloria Burns accepting an engraved crystal globe from Rotary District 6990 Governor Ellen Blassi after she was named Rotarian of the Year for Public Relations. Burns, a Coral Gables Rotarian for 25 years, became involved in public relations as a Coral Gables Junior Woman’s Club member and credits her nonprofit work with helping develop her leadership skills and public relations knowledge. She is a former executive director of the Junior Orange Bowl Committee and of the Coral Gables Community Foundation, and is a founding member of the Pinecrest Community Foundation. She was named Rotarian of the Year in 2013-14.
