Village Candidates Forum set for Thursday, Oct. 18

The best chance for Palmetto Bay residents to see all six candidates running for village council seats in the Nov. 6 election is to attend the Candidates Forum sponsored by Palmetto Bay Village Voice on Thursday, Oct. 18.

Scheduled for 7 p.m. in the Palm Room of the Palmetto Bay Village Center, 18001 Old Cutler Rd. in Palmetto Bay, the debate will feature Karyn Cunningham, John Dubois and Brian Pariser who are running for the position of vice mayor, and Jim Araiza, Tim Schaffer and Howard Tendrich who are running for the village council Seat 2.

Rhonda Victor Sibilia will moderate the forum. The event is open to all and the public is encouraged to attend.

Palmetto Bay Village Voice, a citizen group devoted to transparency in government, is sponsoring the event as a community outreach project and is part of an ongoing series.

“Take this opportunity to inform yourself on the issues facing our village and the solutions each candidate offers,” said Peter England, Palmetto Bay Village Voice chair.
