Palmetto Bay’s 12th annual State of the Village Address is set for Wednesday, Oct. 22. The address will take place in the Village Hall Chambers at 6 p.m.

For those unable to attend in person, Mayor Shelley Stanczyk’s review of village operations, goals, and objectives will be broadcast live on Palmetto Bay Government Access TV-WBAY and via a live webcast on the village’s website.

This will be the third year that the address has taken place at Palmetto Bay Municipal Center, 9705 E. Hibiscus St. The theme of this year’s address, according to village manager Ron Williams, is “Action.”

“The evolution of this independent village continues as Palmetto Bay moves toward greater institutionalization of municipal programs, services, and policies,” said Williams during an Oct. 3 interview. “The mayor also will share highlights of sustained efforts and ahead by administrative divisions including Police, Public Works, and Parks.”

Williams said that the mayor will discuss village plans to put into action many of the downtown redevelopment plans that were established during the previous fiscal year.

Baptist Health South Florida again will serve as the presenting sponsor for the annual event and will be on hand to provide welcome remarks and outreach information.

“We are pleased to be able to partner with Baptist, year after year,” Williams said. “Their continued support as a good neighbor and a provider of several popular health and fitness programs at our village parks is appreciated by so many residents throughout the community.”

Besides the presentation itself, those attending will be provided complimentary appetizers, wine, and desert items at a reception in the patio outside Village Hall. To RSVP for the event see the event listing on the village’s Facebook page,
