The Florida Grand Opera (FGO) conducted a Meet the Maestro event on Friday, Jan. 10, at the Coral Gables Museum. Maestro Ramón Tebar, FGO music director, an internationally acclaimed conductor who began in the opera world at age 15, is a favorite of the King and Queen of Spain, and travels the globe with luminaries such as Montserrat Caballé and Angela Gheorghiu. Newly appointed as the music director of the Santa Domingo Opera Festival, Tebar also is scheduled to make a much-anticipated debut at the Vienna Staatsoper in 2015. CEO and general director Susan T. Danis led a lively interview with a chance for the audience to engage in their own questions.
