Celebrity grand marshal Jennifer Stone entertains her fans during a performance proceeding The Falls’ “Miracle on 136th Street” holiday parade.

The Falls’ 15th annual “Miracle on 136th Street” holiday parade officially began the holiday season for thousands of Miami residents with celebrity grand marshal Jennifer Stone from Disney Channel’s Wizards Of Waverly Place.

The highly anticipated holiday parade was bigger and better than ever with dancers, special guests and Santa Claus making his long-awaited first arrival of the season along his little helpers.

“This is a labor of love for us at The Falls and a wonderful Miami tradition,” said Julie Goldman, general manager at The Falls. “The Falls takes great pride in bringing the community together, especially during this very special time of the year.”

Thousands of people experienced the holiday parade, which featured a variety of festive entertainment and local talent including marching bands, bag pipers, stilt walkers, a junkanoo band, mariachi bands, Brazilians dancers, a Dixieland Band, local dignitaries, and more.

Parade goers enjoyed seeing Jennifer Stone, from Disney Channel’s Wizards Of Waverly Place, who is most widely recognized for playing Harper Finkle (Selena Gomez’s best friend). Stone has starred in a variety of feature films including Mean Girls 2 and Secondhand Lions, which earned her a Young Artist Award nomination. She was honored to be this year’s celebrity grand marshal and interact with the hundreds of fans who came out to see her.

Ron Magill of Zoo Miami also was a crowd pleaser displaying a large snake wrapped around his neck. Local celebrities including Roxanne Vargas of NBC6, Marybel Rodriguez and Jawan Strader of CBS 4, Mariana Rodriguez of Telemundo 51, Myriam Masihy of Univision, Diana Diaz of WSVN 7, and chief meteorologist Trent Aric along with hurricane specialist Max Mayfield of Local10 spread holiday cheer as they waved to joyful spectators from vintage cars.

The holiday extravaganza was presented by Florida Blue and sponsored by Williamson Automotive; Baptist Children’s Diagnostic Centers; Beaches Resorts; Cox Radio; Easy 93.1; Coast 97.3; Coca-Cola, and The Salvation Army benefiting The United Way Center for Excellence in Early Education, an innovative learning teaching and training initiative dedicated to elevating the quality of early care and education in Miami-Dade and beyond. The parade also benefited the Boys and Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade, a proud partner of United Way of Miami-Dade.
