Miami Gardens councilwoman Shannan Ighodaro honoredRecognized as an Influential Woman in Business

Councilwoman Shannan “Lady” Ighodaro is being honored by Legacy Miami Magazine as one of South Florida’s 2020 Legacy Most Influential and Prominent Black Women in Business & Industry. Nominated by her fellow community members, Councilwoman Ighodaro was selected based on her extensive professional experience, and also her passion and contributions towards women actively engaging in transformational issues.

Councilwoman Ighodaro is one of five (5) women featured on the cover of the upcoming Legacy Miami Maga-zine set to be released on December 27, 2020.

Councilwoman Ighodaro joined the Miami Gardens City Council in November 2020, after being elected to represent Seat 3. In addition to her duties as a public servant, Councilwoman Ighodaro is the founder of Oracle Consulting Group, LLC, a firm specializing in public relations, marketing, public involvement and community outreach. Her professional experience spans being an empowerment strategist, brand and image consultant, and she has a solid background in the implementation of integrated and best practice methodologies for public involvement, public policy, articulation and optimization of innovative public-private partnerships.

In recognition of her leadership and advocacy for women, Councilwoman Ighodaro has received numerous awards such as the prestigious Miami Dade Community Pillars Award in 2015, and was also honored in 2017 as a vessel for her role in empowering women entrepreneurs in the community.

She is married to Erhabor Ighodaro Ph.D., former Councilman and Vice Mayor for the City of Miami Gardens. They are proud parents to twin girls Esosa and Idia.

The magazine is honoring twenty (20) women from Miami-Dade County for their individual contributions to the work place and the advancement of women in business.
