South Beach’s Z Ocean Hotel chooses new general manager

Ramon Antelo, new GM at Z Ocean Hotel

Ramon Antelo has been chosen as the new General Manager of Z Ocean Hotel South Beach, an IHG hotel. Antelo, who is a leader in the South Florida hospitality community, will be responsible for overseeing operations of the 79-suite boutique hotel on South Beach, as well as the hotel’s financial success for IHG who manages the property.
“Coming to Z Ocean Hotel is a perfect fit for me,” said Antelo. “This property has won several major awards this year and I am exceedingly proud of the staff and the culture here focused on the guest experience and excellence. Look for bigger and better achievements in 2013.”
Antelo has 17 years of experience with major brands including Hilton, Hyatt, Sheraton and Radisson hotels in South Florida.
He has also worked for Royal Caribbean Cruises for nine years as Account Executive, Business Development Director and Director for International Sales & Marketing.
Known as a skilled hotel manager, Antelo has extensive industry experience. He is involved with associations such as the South Florida Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, GMBHA, Big Brothers/Big Sisters and served as a past President of SKAL Club of Miami. He is also involved with MPI, SITE, RSA, ITSA, TIA, and GBTA.
He is a second generation Cuban, his parents emigrated from Cuba and he was born and raised in Miami. Ramon is married to Aida and together they have four children.
