New events at the Miami Beach Convention Center set attendance records

Thus far, 2010 has been a record breaking year for Global Spectrum at the Miami Beach Convention Center. The current experience at the Convention Center reflects a rising national trend in attendance at conventions, expos, and trade shows. “We have hosted some of the most important industry associations this year,” said Bob Balsam, Global Spectrum’s General Manager at the MBCC. “Our team has come through with flying colors and received compliment after compliment from our show organizers. We are proud!” The year started off with a bang in January and March with the Society of Critical Care Medicine (SCCM) and the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD), which engulfed the MBCC. Each show utilized nearly 502,000 sq. ft. of space and turned the MBCC into a metropolis of activity. In April, the Neighborhood Assistance Corporation of America (NACA) hosted a five-day, 24-hour marathon event that helped over 15,000 people receive mortgage modifications. But that’s not all, the MBCC also played home to numerous other successful events, such as the Miami International Boat Show (more than 100,000 attendees), Miami International Art Fair, Franchise Expo South, Original Miami Beach Antique Show, JIS (twice), and IDEA 2010, just to name a few. Upcoming events at the bustling MBCC this year include: South Florida Auto Show, and Art Basel Miami Beach.
