This January, Miami Children’s Museum (MCM) is proud to offer Kindermusik classes which gives local parents the opportunity to develop their children’s fundamental skills through music and movement under the guidance of a licensed educator. MCM’s Kindermusik classes offer age-appropriate activities for newborns, infants and crawlers that strengthen early parent-child bonds, foster child development understanding, and improve communication skills.
Kindermusik classes are designed specifically to foster shared musical experiences between the child and caregiver that build children’s cognitive, developmental and musical skills. In addition to enjoying a shared musical experience with their children, parents and caregivers receive take-home materials and expert advice and parenting resources based on the most recent research in baby development while learning how to incorporate musical play into everyday activities.
MCM’s Kindermusik offerings for January – May 2014 include Cuddle & Bounce, for 0 and 1 year olds, Sing & Play, for 1 and 2 year olds, and Wiggle & Grow, for 2 and 3 year olds.
Cuddle and Bounce is Kindermusik’s newest curriculum. This class offers ageappropriate activities for newborns and infants (0 and 1 year olds) that strengthen early parent-child bonds, while focusing heavily on child development and caregiver- child communication. This class includes instrument play, dance, exploration time, and together time in addition to expert advice and parenting resources based on the most recent research in baby development.
Sing and Play is a high-energy music class designed for very young children (1 and 2 year olds). This new Kindermusik curriculum focuses on a child’s early movement, helping to build the muscles that toddlers need to walk, run, and climb while developing vocal skills, nurturing children’s speaking and singing voices.
Wiggle & Grow is a music-filled class that celebrates the unique joys of growing children ages 2-3. Children enjoy singing, dancing, and playing instruments that enhance gross and fine motor skills, turntaking, social skills, and active listening.
Each MCM Kindermusik class creates a unique sense of community between not only the children who are participating, but for the parents and caregivers who are attending as well while instilling a lifelong love for music in the children who attend. Space is limited and registration is required. Please call Yanet at 305.373.KIDS (5437) ext. 112 or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org.
