Report concerns, track requests and provide comments. Also, read news and events, track the trolley, and use the GIS map. The app is available on iPhone (iTunes) and Android (Google Play) devices.

“As promised, we are empowering the public with a tool that will make it easier for us to respond to issues of concern in their neighborhoods,” said Miami Beach Mayor Philip Levine. “I understand the importance of being accountable and able to rapidly respond to the public’s concerns. By improving the way issues are identified and communicated, we are better able to efficiently prioritize and coordinate resolution efforts.”

The new smart phone app allows the public to report real-time neighborhood concerns such as abandoned property, alley cleanliness, graffiti, illegal dumping, broken sidewalks, potholes, and homeless activity, among others, to the appropriate municipal government office instantly. The smart reports include a photo and GPS location that will automatically integrate with the city’s systematized and prioritized customer support center.

In the app, users can drop a pin on a map exactly where they saw the issue, upload a picture, and write a description. Categories include “Abandoned Vehicle,” “Beach Maintenance,” and “Homeless Activity.” Users can choose to make an account and have the city follow up with them on the issue, or submit it anonymously. Levine said he has already received voice messages from residents through the app’s “Tell the Mayor” feature.

Miami Beach will launch upgrades to the app as more features become available.
