‘Around the World Dinner’ to Benefit the Academy of Hospitality and Tourism

The 2013 “Around the World Dinner and Auction,” Celebrating the Silver Anniversary of the Academy of Hospitality & Tourism, will be held on April 6, 2013. The dinner and auction, sponsored by Johnson & Wales University will benefit the Academy of Hospitality and Tourism, a program currently in 14 Miami-Dade high schools for students interested in pursuing college and careers in the tourism industry.

The “Around the World Dinner and Auction,” will feature gourmet cuisine from around the world in the themed kitchens at Johnson and Wales. Wines will be sponsored by Barefoot Wines. Attendees will interact with Chef-instructors and apprentices as they balance creative artistry and gourmet food production .Tickets for the reception gala dinner and desert are $125 per person or $1100 for a table of ten.

This year’s auction items will be posted for bidding online from March 1- 21st at www.biddingforgood.com/aoht. The bidding will resume in a live-auction format at the event April 6th. Special auction items will be featured only at the dinner in live auction.

Auction items being auctioned include American Airlines ticket to the Caribbean, Canada and the US, hotel stays at the Grand Hyatt New York, Marriott Harbor Beach, the Peabody Hotel, Swim with the Dolphins, a 14 person Suite for a Dolphins football game and more.

The Academy of Hospitality and Tourism is a member of the National Academy Foundation (NAF), a national network of career academies to support the development of America’s youth toward personal and professional success in high school, higher education and throughout their careers.
