RECORD ARRIVALS AT “THE NEW MIA” (MIAMI INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT) FOR THE FIRST FOUR MONTHS OF 2012 Passenger arrivals at MIAMI International Airport (MIA) increased in the first four months of 2012 with international passenger arrivals up +10.3% and domestic arrivals up +7.3% when compared to the same time period last year. Total arrivals increased in the first four months of 2012 by +8.7%.

CITY OF MIAMI BEACH PROCLAIMS JUNE 9-12
AS NUCLEAR AND MOLECULAR IMAGING WEEK
Over 6,500 medical professionals from all over the world will be gathering at the MIAMI Beach Convention Center, June 9-12th, for the 2012 Society of Nuclear Medicine Annual Meeting. This convention was booked by the GMCVB sales staff back in June 2004, so we are delighted to finally see it come to fruition.
The premier event will provide attendees, which include physicians, technologists, pharmacists, laboratory professionals, and scientists an in-depth review of the latest technologies, clinical applications and advanced research topics. It will also feature more than 75 continuing education sessions on the most cutting-edge topics in nuclear medicine and molecular imaging. The Mayor of the City of MIAMI Beach, Matti Bower, has even issued a proclamation declaring June 9-12, 2012 as Nuclear and Molecular Imaging Week! The convention is expected to generate over 15,500 room nights and will have an estimated $11.4 million economic impact on our destination.
The GMCVB Meeting Services Department has worked with the various city and county agencies to roll out the “red carpet” and welcome our visiting delegates.
