The Palms at Town & Country Celebrate National Nutrition Month

On Saturday, March 31 from 12pm-5pm, The Palms at Town & Country will host a Family Health & Well-Being Expo to create awareness about National Nutrition Month, a campaign focusing attention on the importance of making informed food choices and developing sound eating and physical activity habits. In addition, the first 250 event attendees will receive a FREE gift. The Family Health & Well-Being Expo will be located at The Palms at Town & Country by the Lake near Loehmann’s Men.

At the Family Health & Well-Being Expo, the event’s sponsor, Comprehensive Breast Center, will provide breast health education and applications for FREE mammograms for the underserved and uninsured individuals who are eligible for this program. The Comprehensive Breast Center offers a complete array of diagnostic tests and procedures for the detection and evaluation of breast health.

As the first fitness event for The Palms at Town & Country, the Family Health & Well-Being Expo’s theme of Stay Fit. Eat Right. Live Smart. will be weaved into the day’s activities including fitness demonstrations by two top leading fitness centers who are dedicated to changing people’s lives – 24 Hour Fitness and SoMi Fitness. 24 Hour Fitness will include Zumba Fitness Class demos and SoMi Fitness will include JNL Fusion moves and exercises to burn fat and gain lean muscle.

The Family Health & Well-Being Expo will also partner with Take Stock in Children, a non-profit whose mission is to help break the cycle of poverty in South Florida, one student at a time, by providing mentors, scholarships, advocacy and hope to at risk deserving students. Event participants can enter-to-win health products, 24 Hour Fitness gym memberships, gifts cards and more. All proceeds from raffle will benefit Take Stock in Children. Take Stock in Children recruits low income at risk students when they are in middle school and provide them support through their completion of their college degree.
