The Southwest Community Farmers’ Market features food and agricultural product, including organic and conventional fruits and vegetables, honey, teas and spices, organic beef and bacon, plants and flowers as well other natural products. Additionally, prepared, ready-to-eat foods are available for sale including Mexican, Indian, Jamaican and other specialties, plus baked goods, frozen treats, and caterer-prepared foods. Most vendors offer samples for tasting.
Produce offerings vary weekly, depending on the growing season, and most vendors offer products that are grown, baked or produced in south Florida. The Market is accessible by foot, bicycle, car, and is dog-friendly.
The Southwest Community Farmers’ Market was formed in 2012 and has adopted Tropical Park as its permanent home with every Saturday, year-round, rain or shine, every Saturday, 9:00AM to 3:00PM.
The Market participates in the SNAP and EBT programs. Participants in these programs can enjoy a doubling of their benefits, up to $40, at the Market.
Vendor information is available every week at the Market from the Community Booth or Urban Oasis Project booth. Interested vendors can stop and experience the Market and gather information, or email: Carlmia@yahoo.com
