HCA (Hospital Corporation of America) East Florida Division has announced the appointment of Lee B. Chaykin as CEO of Kendall Regional Medical Center.

Chaykin has more than 20 years of healthcare finance and management experience, and has been with HCA for the past 18 years. He comes to Kendall Regional Medical Center from University Hospital and Medical Center in Tamarac where he had served as the CEO since 2007.

Prior to his most recent hospital, Chaykin served in chief operating officer positions at Central Florida Regional Hospital in the Orlando area, Cedars Medical Center in Miami, and Westside Regional Medical Center in Plantation.

Chaykin received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Health Services Administration from Florida International University. He is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives, as well as an active supporter of the United Way, Boys and Girls Clubs of Florida, University of Miami Transplant Foundation, and University of Florida Global Health Project in the Yucatan. He also has been recognized by Rotary as a Paul Harris Fellow for his commitment to community service.

“Lee is a dedicated leader of great integrity and is well equipped to lead the Kendall Regional Medical Center team aptly as they move towards Trauma Center status,” said Michael G. Joseph, CEO of HCA’s East Florida Division.

“I look forward to serving as the chief executive officer of Kendall Regional Medical Center and working with the healthcare team to provide the very best care to our patients and the community we serve,” Chaykin said. “It is a tremendous time for growth at the hospital and I know that the medical staff and employees of the facility are ready to help take the hospital to the next level of excellence.”

Chaykin grew up in South Florida and resides here with his wife, Nalini, and his son, Amar.

Kendall Regional Medical Center is a 412-bed, full-service hospital providing area residents with 24-hour comprehensive medical, surgical and diagnostic services, along with a wide range of patient and community services.
