February is the month of love and Books & Books, 265 Aragon Ave. in Coral Gables, hosts two steamy author events this month.
Coral Gables author and screenwriter Shelly Gitlow (co-writer of the film Boynton Beach Club) makes her fiction debut with
Dispatches From Paradise, a novel written in the spirit of Sex and the City meets 50 Shades of Grey.
Dispatches is funny, racy and bold. Written in the distinct voices of Liz (39), Claudette (55), and Darcy (18), Dispatches From
Paradise explores the complex dynamics of the women’s relationships and sex lives as they tear through Miami’s wild clubs and outrageous art scene.
On Friday, Feb 21, at 6:30 p.m., Gitlow will join theater actors for a live dramatic reading — and an unforgettable three-way “romp” — at Books & Books.
Speaking of fantasies, the following week the store hosts Iris Krasnow who has made a career out of getting women to tell her their most intimate secrets about their relationships.
In her new book, Sex After… Women Share How Intimacy Changes as Life Changes, she explores different dating scenes and sexual encounters through the eyes of women of all ages. What she found most surprising were the voices of the “Giddy Golden Girls” — these women revealed how sex at their age with the right partner can be the best sex they have ever experienced.
Says one Golden Girl: “Most people in their 70s and 80s feel internally like they did when they were 35. When it comes to enjoying a long and healthy sex life, attitude is everything.”
Krasnow will show readers exactly how to live their later years to the fullest, in and out of the bedroom, at Books & Books on Monday, Feb. 24, at 8 p.m.
