Miami-Dade Police Kendall District Officer Josue Guerra (third from left) displays Officer of the Month citation for “attention to duty and courage” after apprehending a (burglary suspect) driver who attempted burglarizing an SUV, then fled at 2:45 a.m. on Apr. 19 from the area around SW 50th Street and 67th Avenue. A 45-minute chase by Officer Guerra through two police districts and three municipalities ensued before the suspect was arrested (without a crash or property damage) when his car ran out of gas and he attempted to flee on foot. “A job well done,” declared Maj. Christopher Carothers, district commander, along with South Operations Division chief Hernan M. Organvidez (left) and Kendall District CAC chair Barry White (right) who made the presentation during the June 25 meeting.
