Commissioner Souto is sponsoring a Resolution urging our professional sports franchises to make their professional sports stadiums and facilities available in Miami-Dade County to serve as host facilities for County finals tournaments. For instance the Marlins Stadium would serve as the venue for the County’s little league finals, as well as the high school baseball finals tournament to determine the County champions. Dolphin’s stadium would serve as the venue for the County’s high school football championship game. The American Airlines Arena would serve as the venue for the County’s high school basketball championship tournament. The tennis center would serve as the venue for the County’s high school tennis finals tournaments. By doing this it will create an opportunity for those kids to play in the same venue as those professionals that they idolize and aspire to follow.
