Sidewalk Project
Commissioner Souto would like to inform the residents of the area between SW 40 Street to SW 48 Street between SW 82 Avenue and SW 87 Avenue that the new sidewalk project will begin construction in February 2013.

Ruben Dario Park Lighting Project
Commissioner Souto would like to announce that he was successful in allocating Federal money to install lights on the main road inside Ruben Dario Park, as well as the lights in the parking lot area. Commissioner Souto wants to make sure that this park is well illuminated for the safety of the residents who use this great park. We will keep you updated on when the project will start.

Commissioner Souto would like to inform the residents of Westchester about a group called Friends-of-Westchester composed of residents who want to reassure that Westchester stays protected, preserved, and enhances, in every way possible, the quality of life in Westchester. DISTRICT 10 – BUSINESS OF THE WEEK Arbetter’s Hot Dogs, 8747 SW 40 Street
Commissioner Souto would like to recognize a business that has been open since the 1950’s and in West­chester since 1972. Arbetter’s Hot Dogs is famous for the best Hot Dogs and Chili Dogs in all of South Florida, located at 8747 SW 40 Street. In July 2010 the Board of County Commissioners along with the State Legislatures adopted a Resolution naming Bird Road between 87 Avenue and 89 Avenue as “Bob Arbetter’s Way”. Commissioner Souto is very proud for having such a great establishment in District 10.

Upcoming Events
Commissioner Javier Souto and the Miami-Dade Parks’ Department would like to an­nounce that “Noches Tropicales” concert will take place on October 19, 2012 at Tropical Park starting at 8:00 PM. The theme of the night will be a Salsa Night performance by Elaine Hernandez.

Miami Dade County Parks Department will be hosting a Halloween Haunted House at Tropical Estates Park located at 10201 SW 48 Street on October 26, 2012 from 8:00 PM to 11:00 PM

Commissioner Souto is requesting that all residents report any of the following issues: trash piles, shopping carts, non-illuminated street lights, non-functioning illuminated street signs, damaged trees, street flooding, clogged street drains, and broken sidewalks by calling our District Office (305-222-2116) or send us an email at javiersouto@miamidade.gov. We also would ask you to please call 311 if you need to schedule a Trash Pile for pick-up. Please report any situation that you think is related to crime or conducive to crime and report any situation that may diminish our quality-of-life. Commissioner Souto would like to hear about suggestions, concerns or issues regarding District 10. Commissioner Souto values your opinion. He is always looking for ways to receive more information from the residents of District 10.
