Meeting introduces Aventura Marketing Council 'International Committee'

With the mission to help the international business community compete in the global economy, the Aventura Marketing Council has formed a new International Committee co-chaired by immigration attorney Roger Bernstein and Fernando Levy Hara, principal of G&D Developers.

Beyond gaining local notoriety, the International Committee recently garnered international attention at an AMC Chairman's Roundtable luncheon attended by Consul Generals from around the world at The Fairmont Turnberry Isle Resort & Club.

AMC Chair Cliff Schulman of Greenberg Traurig helped welcome AMC business and community leaders, special guests and dignitaries to the event hosted by Bernstein Osberg-Braun & de Moraes - one of the most experienced immigration law firms in Florida focusing exclusively on corporate non-immigrant and immigrant visas, labor certifications, waivers, litigation, appeals, motions to re-open and consular processing.

"In this economy, it's critical that we bring foreign investment to the U.S.," Bernstein said. "One of our firm's specialties is the 'U.S. Foreign Investor Program' enabling foreign nationals to invest in high unemployment areas and create jobs. We also assist corporations and hospitals in acquiring visas for highly-qualified personnel with extraordinary abilities; help families bring relatives from abroad; defend clients' constitutional rights in Federal court; and represent foreign governments in aiding their citizens. "Essentially, we're in the business of helping people. We want all of our clients to realize their American dream. The firm has set a long-term goal over the next decade to create freedom and opportunities for over 10,000 people… with community support, we look forward to reaching that goal."

During the meeting, the Aventura Marketing Council earned high praise for creating the International Committee from the following Consul Generals and Trade Commissioners eager to participate in win-win economic partnerships and business building endeavors:

Diego E. Alvarez Rivera, Deputy Consul General and Trade Commissioner, Argentina; The Hon. Gladys Johnson- Sands, Consul General, Bahamas; George Mayers, Consul / Liaison Officer, Barbados; Claudio Ramirez, Consul and Trade Commissioner, Canada; The Hon. Hiroshi Yamaguchi, Consul General, Japan; Dana Klein, Hon. Consul General, Republic of Macedonia; The Hon. Juan Miguel Gutierrez-Tinoco, Consul General, Mexico; The Hon. Rakieb M. Khudabux, Consul General, Republic of Suriname; and Gabriel Perez Krieb, Trade Commissioner, Mexico.

Each country's representative shared universal desires to surmount global economic challenges through investment and trade partnerships as well as strengthening ties linked to industries such as tourism, manufacturing, technology and agriculture. "In spite of distance, many things can be united," said the Hon. Hiroshi Yamaguchi, Consul General of Japan.

On behalf of the International Committee, co-chair Fernando Levy Hara noted, "We're looking forward to working with leaders from Argentina on our first event furthering the purpose of the International Committee to cultivate strategic alliances with global partners that can develop and enhance trade and investment opportunities in the U.S. - particularly northeast Miami-Dade County. "We're also planning to establish many more connections with countries and international business organizations and will be scheduling seminars on international investments, immigration, tax and real estate issues. In this economy, rather than simply looking inward - we need to look to the international community to create jobs, investments and more trade. We look forward to working with all of you and the countries represented here today."
