Join Christina in this fun and creative class. You will learn how to apply colored pencils to copper textured pieces, no kiln, or torch required. Learn the process of applying the pencil colors so they will not rub off, then seal in the colors. Attach your colored pieces to a silverbacking using a cold connection method. The cost of the class includes all material needed to make a pair of earrings or a pendant along with deatiled instructions. This class is open to all levels of experience. Join Christina for a fun creative day making dichoric fused class pendants or earrings. Learn how to cut through dichroic and plain sheet glass using glass cutters, nippers, running pliers and grozier pliers to create your designes. Stack the glass into layers, add some wire or fiber paper between the layers. The pieces with be fired in a small table top digital kiln at a high temperature until the glass fuses together, the firing and cooling down process takes about 3 to 4 hours. Your completed projects will be ready for pick up at the end of the day or they can be mailed to you. The class cost includes all material necessary to complete several pieces and the class is open to all levels of experience. This is a fun painting class that we will complete in approximately 60 minutes.
Suggested ages for this class are 5 to 16. Be ready to let Casey lead them step by step as they complete their master piece.

Christina Haney Dykes is teaching a torch fired enamel pendant at the Key Largo Art Gallery. Create this fun pendant or your own design using fine silver that you will texture with a tube ringer. Use a torch to fuse enamel onto the fine silver, make a few enameled head pins, rivet your enamel piece onto your copper backing, make a wire bail and you have a fabulous pendant. The class is open to all levels of experience and the class cost includes all necessary materials to complete one pendant. This necklace is stunning alone or with an added pendant. This is a very relaxed and fun necklace to make. Learn the pattern and create enough links for a 20" necklace. Christina Haney Dykes is teaching a Double Viking Knit Bracelet class on Monday 12/17/12 from 10am-3pm at the Key Largo Art Galler at mm103 on the bayside. The class cost is $125 which includes all material and detailed instructions and is open to all levels. You will learn how to weave sterling silver wire to form the double viking knit, then pull it through a draw plate to see the magic happen. The result is a beautiful flexable woven wire bracelet that is stunning.
