The U.S. Small Business Administration South Florida District Office, AARP, and the Miami SCORE Chapter are working together to host a National Encore Entrepreneur Mentor Month event in Ft. Lauderdale on April 24, 2013. The event will connect aspiring entrepreneurs over the age of 50 who want to start or grow a small business with an experienced business mentor from the Miami SCORE Chapter.
National Encore Entrepreneur Mentor Day is a result of SBA’s national strategic alliance with AARP announced in May 2012. Through SBA’s nationwide network of business mentors and counselors, the two organizations expect to train 100,000 “encore entrepreneurs,” men and women over 50 who are starting or running a small business.
At the events in South Florida, counselors from SCORE will offer advice and tips for participants who will also be able to sign up to receive on-going free mentoring.

Held at Wall Foss Financial at 212 East Highland Drive from 7 to 11 p.m. Art Party 21 will feature visual art, film fashion, sound, and performance pieces, along with food, beer and wine. A hidden gem of Central Florida, Art Party 21 has never and will never be the same show twice. Miami Dance Festival presents Film Night. A screening of the film Tap starring Gregory Hines plus a lecture/demonstration on tap dance. Guest Artist Judy Ann Bassing will give a lecture/demonstration on tap as an indigenous American art form.

Miami Dance Festival kick-off it's 10th Season weekend with a performance by Miami's own Momentum Dance Company. Momentum is the oldest continuously operating modern dance company in Florida and one of the oldest in the U.S. To celebrate, Momentum will give two concerts, premiering new works by Delma Iles, Founder and Artistic Director and a reconstruction by modern dance pioneer, Eleanor King.
Miami Dance Festival continues tradition with a Family Day performance by Momentum Dance Festival. Performances include, Carnival of the Animals, plus its newest ballet for children, Three Chinese Pictures, which has been commissioned by the South Florida Youth Symphony.
