"AIDS is the scourge of the 21st Century, and it’s about time for that rat bastard to go down in flames. Despite some recent encouraging scientific advances, we’re still far, far from the days when we no longer have to fear its deadly grip. Plus, new HIV infection rates in Miami-Dade and Broward are still the highest in the nation. Not good people, not good. Isn’t putting your legs to work the least you can do? This weekend, you can stroll the streets of Miami to help defeat the biggest asshole to hit humanity since Hitler. The 5K AIDS Walk Miami walk-a-thon and fundraiser benefits Care Resource, the oldest and largest HIV/AIDS community organization doing good work locally. The crew of compassionate folks provides medical, dental, psychosocial, outreach, prevention, and education to more than 15,000 people across Dade and Broward affected by or infected with HIV/AIDS. Monies raised by the walk will go directly into the community, where they are needed most".
