Lorna Owens Speaks at
4th Annual Hats Affair
Ft. Lauderdale, FL – Mon Papillion Event’s Inc. will host it’s 4th Annual Hats Affair on Sunday, May 19th, 2013 from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM at Signature Memories as a celebration of women and the multiple hats we wear in our daily lives. Guests dress in their Sunday’s best, hats and all, at the 4th Annual Hats Affair. The event’s core purpose is to give back, by donating some of the proceeds to Pennies for Haiti which is an orphanage located in Port-au-Prince.

The 4th Annual Hat’s Affair will feature designer Guerda Pierre will present her Lordana Collection and the much anticipated Best Hat Competition.
International motivation speaker and life strategist Lorna Owens will deliver the key note address. Lorna is a member of the Florida Bar Entertainment Section and Black Lawyer Entertainment and Sports. Prior to making a name for herself in the entertainment industry, her experience as an Assistant State Attorney for Dade County brought her in contact with some the most influential people in the State. She was the Coordinator of the 1997 International Global Economic Summit for Women in Miami. Lorna has served on a number of committees championing Women's Rights and is Former President of the Women's Political Caucus for Dade County.

The first ever Motion for the Ocean 5K Run/Walk will be held Sunday, April 14th, 2013 at the Nova Southeastern University Oceanographic Center (NSU-OC). The event partially funded by the NSU Pan Student Government Association as a fundraiser and hosted by the NSU-OC Student Government Association. Cost for participation in the race is $20 for early registration and $25 the day of. This includes a race t-shirt for all participants and official timing services. Nova Southeastern University welcomes celebrated playwright Edward Albee as part of the Farquhar College of Arts and Sciences’ 2012–2013 Distinguished Speakers Series.
Albee is perhaps best known for his 1962 drama Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf? It received both the Tony and New York Drama Critics Circle awards and is widely considered a classic of American contemporary theatre.

Lambert is the owner of the building services company, Centennial One, and author of the 2010 book, The Road to Someplace Better: From the Segregated South to Harvard Business School and Beyond. Marcela Diaz is an award-winning American/Peruvian choreographer who founded Afro con Tempo, the first dance company in the US to combine Afro-Peruvian folklore with Contemporary dance.
