MANO turns to Cuba’s Vanguard movement as inspiration for his newest collection “Circa Now”, returning to a more gestural format of abstract expressionism, MANO pays homage to Cuban masters such as artists Cundo Bermundez, Antonio Gattorno and Amelia Pelaez among others, interpreting their works using unlikely materials such as jute and applying thick layers of paint and natural pigments to create richly textured works in celebration of his heritage. The opening reception will be held during the Bird Road Art Walk.
