The Heart Walk has long been the American Heart Association’s premier fundraiser across the United States, raising critical funds to help combat heart disease and stroke, the No. 1 and No. 4 leading killers, respectively, of American men and women. Dollars go toward research, education and community programs. Through the Heart Walk, the American Heart Association strives to raise awareness about the prevalence of cardiovascular diseases, provoke a call to action through walking, and in turn pave the way for longer, stronger lives. Day-of activities include health screenings, heart-healthy refreshments, children’s activities and entertainment.
