Liberty City Health Fair at Belafonte TACOLCY Center

The Liberty City Health Fair is a means of providing necessary health screening and education to the uninsured and underserved population of Liberty City in Miami-Dade. We screen for conditions including hypertension, diabetes, dyslipidemia, vision loss, depression, obesity, osteoporosis, breast cancer, prostate cancer, HIV, skin cancers, and other dermatologic problems.  Participants with potential problems are referred to local health care centers for follow-up care. Medical students and physicians from the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, along with several community partners, take part in the Liberty City Health Fair. The Area Health Education Center (AHEC) and other educational agencies will also be providing participants with information on medical conditions and lifestyle choices.
