Ira Sullivan joins NWSA Jazz ensemble for a formidable evening of music

November 20, 2012 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

| Free

The NWSA High School Jazz Combo Concert promises to deliver an unforgettable evening as renowned saxophonist Ira Sullivan takes center stage to jam it out with the group. The concert will feature the music of Julian “Cannonball” Adderly – a famous South Florida jazz saxophonist whose reputation and notoriety rose significantly after he was asked to play in Miles Davis’ sextet in the late 1950’s. His playing is featured on one of the most famous jazz recordings of all time – Mils Davis’ Kind of Blue. This is the second time Sullivan joins the NWSA Jazz Combo in concert. A familiar face among the music students, Ira Sullivan has also taken part in the education of the students by delivering several master classes this year.
