Deadline is June 16 for National Philanthropy Day award nominations
The Association of Fundraising Professionals – AFP Miami continues its tradition of honoring the local philanthropic community at the annual National Philanthropy Day Awards luncheon, which will take place on November 12.
Each year over 500 guests gather to recognize and celebrate the who’s who of Miami philanthropy and the National Philanthropy Day award winners. The deadline to nominate extraordinary individuals, corporations and foundations is June 16.
In 1985, AFP Miami initiated the first National Philanthropy Day awards event. Today, National Philanthropy Day is celebrated across North America and around the world. AFP Miami’s annual National Philanthropy Day luncheon is Miami’s premier philanthropy event. This special day is set aside to recognize and pay tribute to the great contributions that philanthropy—and the people active in Miami’s philanthropic community—have made to our lives, our local community and our world.
Each year, AFP Miami offers the local community an opportunity to acknowledge, highlight and pay tribute to philanthropic excellence. The chapter invites nominations in the following distinguished award categories:
• Outstanding Philanthropist Award
• James W. McLamore Outstanding Volunteer Award
• Julia Tuttle Award for Community Involvement & Corporate Citizenship
• Outstanding Grant Maker Award
Visit the chapter’s website www.afpmiami.org to access the nomination form and submission details. Nominations must be either emailed or postmarked by June 16 to be considered for this year’s award. Any forms received after this date may be considered for the following year’s awards. Questions on the selection process can be directed to the National Philanthropy Day co-chairs at info@AFPMiami.org
