On Friday, October 12th, the former "Bertha Abess Children's Center" (BACC) building of Palmetto Elementary will be renamed to the "Thomas Uhle Building", in honor of retiring teacher Thomas Uhle.  Since 1980, Mr. Uhle served as teacher, BACC chairperson, and United Teachers of Dade building steward at Palmetto Elementary.
