What do Commissioners Jerry Libbin, Michael Gongora and Deede Weithorn have in common with Fire Chief Javier Otero, Alan Lips, Dr. Leslie Rosenfeld, Ceci Veslasco, Eric Knowles, Steve Haas, Tony Major, Mary Juncadellla-Ferreiro, Sally Heyman’s Deputy Chief of Staff, Julio Magrisso and DeAnne Connolly Graham? They’re all local luminaries who will be strutting the runway to raise funds for programs for children with special needs.
To be held on March 14 at the Deauville Beach Resort, AYUDA Illuminates…Special Fashion for Special Kids is truly a fashion show/luncheon with a twist. Macy’s will be staging the fashion show extravaganza, and Miami’s own gospel diva, Maryel Epps, will be singing the opening number. Additional music will be provided by DJ Jessimixx to highlight the fashions.
Attendees will also have the opportunity to bid on some fabulous auction items, including jewelry, gift certificates for local hot spots, and a host of other items, including massages, fitness classes, a day at Calder Race track, and much, much more. The grand prize raffle ($25 per ticket, six for $100) is offering two round-trip tickets to Argentina, compliments of LAN-TAM airlines.
This fashion show/luncheon will be the major fund raising event for AYUDA in 2013, and will help provide AYUDA’s clients with educational and innovative programs that would otherwise not be available. The proceeds of the luncheon are dedicated to programs for special needs children.
