This annual tournament, in partnership with the Marine Industries Association of South Florida, directly supports the ongoing efforts at NSU’s Oceanographic Center, providing scholarships for deserving doctoral students as they pursue their dreams.
The 2014 tournament is divided into two days:
The Captain’s Party: 6-10 p.m. Thursday, February 27th at the Oceanographic Center, 8000 N. Ocean Dr., Dania Beach (inside John U. Lloyd State Park.) The cocktail reception will run from 6-10 p.m. There will be tours of the Oceanographic Center from 6-8 p.m. and the captain’s meeting will be held at 7 p.m.
Tournament Day: Saturday, March 1st from either Port Everglades or the Hillsboro Inlet:
6-7 a.m. check-out; 7 a.m. “lines in,” 3 p.m. “lines out;”
Weigh-in runs from 2-5 p.m. Bahia Mar Marina 801 Seabreeze Blvd, Fort Lauderdale;
Cocktail Reception runs from 4:30-6 p.m.; Awards Dinner from 6-9 p.m. at the Bahia Mar Hotel, Fort Lauderdale.
The entry fees for the 2014 tournament are:
$1,000 general entry;
$500 for current NSU students, NSU faculty and staff or Alumni;
Additional Captain’s Party and Post-Tournament Party tickets are $50 each.
