Rebuilding Together Miami-Dade is partnered with Comcast for the 13th Comcast Cares Day, the company’s signature day of service and the largest single-day corporate volunteer effort. Local Comcast employees and their family and friends will work alongside community volunteers to rehab homes in the West Perrine neighborhood that are badly in need of repairs. Many of the home owners are elderly, disabled or veterans living on less than $20,000 a year. Projects will include painting, repairs and landscaping.
The public is invited to join and can sign-up online before the event by visiting www.comcastinthecommunity.com, searching for projects in Miami and selecting “Rebuilding Together Miami Day- Powering Dreams in Our Community.” Volunteers also need to register with Rebuilding Together Miami-Dade by visiting www.rebuildingtogethermiami.org and selecting the green “Volunteer to Help!” button on the right. Volunteers should complete a new volunteer application and specify “Comcast Cares Day” as the project.
This year the Company expects more than 80,000 volunteers to participate in over 700 projects across the country and around the globe. To date, more than half a million volunteers have contributed over 3 million volunteer hours since Comcast Cares Day started in 2001.
