Sky Zone marked a ribbon- cutting ceremony Oct. 13 to celebrate the opening of South Florida’s first trampoline park, creating a unique experience for a wide variety of physical activity within its courtyard complex.
Located at 5450 N. W. 82 Ave. in Doral, Sky Zone allows jumpers to bounce, flip and tumble freestyle or try more daring tricks while jumping into the giant Foam Zone, described owner Juan Brandt.
Sky Zone also offers sports-related activities atop the trampolines like 3D -Dodgeball and volleyball, as well as SkySlam, where participants can dunk in one of the park’s three lanes of basketball hoops.
The expansive facility provides a variety of activities like “SkyJam” and “JumpaPalooza” nights when teens and ‘tweens can freestyle jump for two hours at a special value.
“With 16,000 square feet of trampoline courts, participants can freely bounce off the trampoline walls, practice their aerobic and acrobatic skills, and enjoy a fun time for all,” Brandt said.
Additionally, the park offers fitness classes known as “SkyRobics” which can burn up to 1,000 calories per hour, a welcome alternative to traditional and monotonous gym workouts, he added.
With three party rooms, Sky Zone provides a lively venue for birthday parties and group events, accommodating up to 130 participants at one time. Nutritious snacks are available from the Sky Zone Café which also offers a wide array of beverages and meals.
In 2004, Sky Zone, LLC created and built the world’s first all-trampoline, walled playing court and now operates three affiliate- owned indoor trampoline parks, with franchises open across the United States and Canada.
“This is a concept that I truly believe in,” said Brandt. “Sky Zone is a recreational alternative that gets people away from TV screens to be physically active while having fun.”
