The Doral Chamber of Commerce VII Annual PowerBusiness Expo & Business Conference

Power Business expo frontThe Doral Chamber of Commerce VII Annual PowerBusiness Expo 2014 & Business Conference will take place July 23, 2014, from 12 to 7 PM at the Miami Airport Conference Center on 711 NW 72nd Avenue in Miami, Florida 33126. Southern Command is located within the City of Doral, and many military families and veterans live in our community. Knowing the struggles our veterans are facing in finding jobs and reintegrating into the private sector, we have expanded the Expo this year to include a Veterans’ Resource Fair and thus provide the opportunity for veterans and military families to access our businesses for employment, participate in business creation seminars, etc.

City of Miami Mayor Tomas Regalado will provide the welcoming remarks at the Expo & Fair Opening Ceremony. U.S. Congressman Joe Garcia, Miami-Dade County Commissioner and Chairman of the Miami-Dade County Military Affairs Board Jose “Pepe” Diaz, and City of Doral Councilwoman Sandra Ruiz are sponsors of the Fair, and will also be providing remarks in support of the work of the Doral Chamber of Commerce and our veterans. We have confirmed representatives from the U.S. Veterans Administration, Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance, and the Small Business Administration present to provide information to attendees. Career Sources of Florida (formerly the South Florida Workforce Investment Board) will conduct workshops on resume facelifts and the federal job application process. They will have their mobile job center available with laptops for the veterans and the public in general to search and apply for jobs.

Admission to the PowerBusiness Expo 2014 & Business Conference and Veterans’ Resource Fair is free to the public. To exhibit at the Expo and Fair, please contact millieherrera@themiamigroup.com.
